STEPPING UP TO SERVE: Ministry Gives Away 500 Thanksgiving Food Boxes To Community

Ministry gives away over 500 Thanksgiving boxes to those in need

A ministry called Care Center Ministries Mississippi did something wonderful for the community right before Thanksgiving.

They packed over 500 Thanksgiving meal boxes to deliver to people in need in the Jackson community.

Volunteers from all over the state came to help pack up these boxes.

They were handed out in areas where people may not otherwise have the money to buy ingredients for their Thanksgiving meal.

Care Center Ministries is an extension of CareCenter Ministries founded in Dallas, Texas by National Director Pastor Eldred Sawyer.

According to their website,

“CCM MS offers Christ-centered services and programs for individuals facing life-controlling issues. Our programs and services are also platforms to help meet needs within our community and introduce individuals and families to the transforming hope of Jesus Christ.”

The founder of Care Center Ministries in Jackson is Daniel Awadby. He found himself in a jail cell in 2014, facing life in prison. That is where he says God met him and spoke to him through a Bible in his cell.
God ended up making a way for Daniel to be released from prison and go to CareCenter Ministries in Dallas where he says his life was transformed by the power of the gospel.
He completed the ministry’s leadership program and obeyed God’s calling to come back to his hometown of Jackson, Mississippi, and launch a ministry to help others there.
We spoke with Pastor Ciera Sinor, the Tree of Life Women’s Home Director, and she said,
“Our heart at CareCenter is to help transform our community from the inside out by serving the least, lost, and the lonely and helping them to find freedom from the same bondage we were once in. Some of the ways we do this are with our one year discipleship program, food pantry, and Soul Snatchers outreach.”
