Students from Park Place Christian Academy (PPCA) in Pearl decided to be a blessing to a local Jackson homeless shelter called Wingard Home.

They held a donation drive and were able to gather a truckload of supplies and clothing items for a shelter that does so much for those in the community to help them get back on their feet.

Wingard Home Ministry is run by Charlotte Wingard and they open their doors to those experiencing homelessness. They help them find jobs, give them a place to live and eat, and help them get back on their feet.

Abby Willoughby and her National Honor Society students led the initiative.

Adding to this effort, Mrs. Donna Hunt’s first-grade students from PPCA’s Dyslexia Center also participated in the drive, contributing to the donations.

“We are immensely grateful to everyone at PPCA,” said a representative from the Wingard Home Ministry. “Your actions truly embody the principle of ‘love God and love your neighbor.’ Thank you for making a difference in the lives of those in need.”

PPCA continues to exemplify the values of compassion and community service, proving that their commitment to helping others extends beyond the classroom.
