A Kosciusko horse rescue got quite the surprise when FedEx drove up, with a car following behind full of boxes that the community donated.
FedEx went above and beyond and two more workers got out of a car following the FedEx truck to help unload the 145 boxes.
The boxes were all from Chewy and were for some of the new babies the rescue had just taken in.
Rocking R Ranch and Rescue is a 501c3 nonprofit charitable organization, focused on helping equines in need. They have locations in both Kosciusko and Prentiss Mississippi.
They focus on saving equine from slaughter, ahead of the kill buyers. The rescuers attend local auctions and big against the kill buyers, saving horses before they reach the kill pen. They also help local law enforcement with neglect cases and owner surrenders. Their website says, “we believe that their lives are worthy, and deserving of a chance to be healthy and happy.”
Horses that are not considered “adoptable” due to poor health or age remain at the rescue with them. They do not believe in ending a horse’s life just because they are not adoptable.
