On Thursday, September 28, 25-year-old Demartez Lewis was sentenced to 25 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections for sexual battery of a child under the age of 14.
Lewis will have to serve 20 years, day for day before he is eligible for parole.
District Attorney Chris Hennis said,
“I want to thank the Simpson County Sheriff’s Department and Investigator Kelvin Jenkins for the great work investigating this case which allowed my office to successfully prosecute this case and get justice for the victim.”
