Authorities in Simpson County are trying to identify a man who allegedly attempted to rob a local convenience store.
According to Facebook posts from the Simpson County Sheriff’s Department and Tony’s One Stop, on Sunday a man attempted to rob the location at the intersection of Hwy 13 & Hwy 28. He and an unknown driver left in a Maroon Jeep Compass with tinted windows traveling down Hwy 13 south toward Prentiss.
The post from Tony’s One Stop says the man was carrying what appeared to be a Colt .45 revolver with a wooden handle. The Jeep may have had a dealership tag on it.
