The National Weather Service is urging Central Mississippi residents to avoid spending long periods of time outdoors, as hot and humid conditions continue through the remainder of the week. Afternoon temperatures in the mid to upper 90s will combine with high humidity to produce heat indices between 105 and 110, however, values from 110-115 will be possible over portions of the I-55 corridor.
