Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba is joining seven fellow mayors across the metro Jackson area to raise food items for the Mississippi food pantry Extra Table.
Each mayor is assigned a different food to collect from their city. Jackson Mayor Lumumba was given tuna to collect from residents in Jackson.
The Jackson Mayor is asking residents to donate cans of tuna to several locations across Jackson.
Since Jackson is the largest city to participate in the food collection drive, Mayor Lumumba said he is optimistic residents will outgive other cities.
