After all of the rain lately, several record rainfall amounts were set in Jackson, Meridian, and Vicksburg.
According to the National Weather Service, Jacckson set a new August monthly record at 11.57 inches breaking the old monthly August record of 11.51 inches which was set back in 2008!
The old record in Vicksburg was 1.71 (set in 2008) and the new record is 2.90 (set in 2022).
The old record in Meridian was 1.56 (set in 1967) and the new record is 4.61 (set in 2022)
