On Wednesday, January 4, 2023, all Mississippians will have the opportunity to start our new year sharing a meal, enjoying fellowship together, and praying for our legislators as our governing leaders begin their 2023 legislative session in Jackson.

The 7th Annual Legislative Prayer Breakfast will begin at 8 a.m.at First Baptist Church of Jackson Fellowship Hall East, 431 N. State St. The church is less than a mile, or walking distance, from the Mississippi State Capitol.

The purpose of the event is to bring the Christian community together to pray for legislators as they perform their duties during the next three months.

Mission Mississippi, along with various denominations, and congregations, are sponsoring this prayer gathering to specifically pray for our legislative leaders.

“There is always criticism about how divided we are in this state,” said Mission Mississippi President Neddie Winters. “This is a rare opportunity for us to come together to demonstrate that we can use our voices together not to simply criticize but to pray and work together to find answers and solutions. We have differences but there is unity in the body of Christ. Let’s come together and pray that 2023 will be a good year for us as individuals, our families, our communities, and our state.”
