Friday morning, President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden flew into Jackson to visit Rolling Fork after an EF-4 tornado destroyed much of the city.
The City of Jackson posted on its Facebook page saying that the President and First Lady will meet with first responders and visit the communities and residents who have been impacted by the storms.
According to WLBT, Jackson Mayor, Chokwe Antar Lumumba, U.S. Representative Bennie Thompson, FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell, and other leaders were at the airport to greet the President.
After the storms struck Rolling Fork, President Biden issued an emergency declaration for Mississippi which will allow FEMA to help with funds for counties impacted by the tornado.
