STEPPING UP TO SERVE: Prentiss Co. School District Purchases $10K Of Active Shooter Training Equipment For Police Dept.

Morgan Howard

The Prentiss County School District recently purchased approximately $10,000.00 of Active Shooter Training Equipment for the Prentiss County Sheriff’s Department to be able to train cost-free.
This will help the sheriff’s department to be able to train at their convenience. They described the donation as helping them to, “better serve and protect our children, and school staff at our school campuses”.
Our School Resource Officers are certified to teach ALERRT (Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training) Level I AND II, which is Active Shooter, and life-saving techniques training.
The equipment consists of 10 sim guns, 10 helmets, 5 training guns, and 15 tourniquets.
The Sheriff’s Department said, “This training equipment is extremely vital and beneficial for us to train for an Active Shooter Event on any of our school campuses, but also any Active Shooter Event within the community.”
“We are so thankful and blessed to have such a prodigious working relationship with our School District, in that we both have the same ultimate goals of providing the best and most current safety measures possible to protect our children, school staff, and our communities as a whole.”
