A stabbing was reported on the campus of Mississippi State University.
The stabbing was reported in a parked vehicle near Herbert Hall, and MSU Police are investigating with a suspect in custody.

“We believe the victim is a university employee, and that the assailant is known to that employee. The victim has been transported to OCH Regional Hospital, with what we believe to be non-life-threatening injuries,” said MSU Chief Communications Officer Sid Salter.

A university Maroon Alert message asked people to avoid the area while police responded. Campus has returned to normal operations. Follow MSU Maroon Alert at twitter.com/maroonalert.
