Two people were taken into custody on drug charges in Pearl River County over the weekend.

Officials said in a release that narcotics officers with the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a Lincoln Town car on Pecan Grove Road in Picayune for a traffic violation on Friday.

During the stop, Brian Cruz and Gabreale Heasley were found in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed multiple packages of suspected methamphetamine inside the vehicle.

The couple were transported to the Pearl River County Criminal Justice Facility where they were booked for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
