Oxford police make recent arrests

Toiquan Duren
On May 15th, the Oxford Police Department responded to a residence in the 100 block of Anchorage Road to take a theft report. After investigation, Toiquan Duren, 24, of Oxford, was arrested and charged with Burglary of a Dwelling.

Duren was taken before a Lafayette County Justice Court judge for his initial bond hearing and issued a $10,000 bond. A hold was placed on Duren’s bond by an out-of-state agency.

Alvin Edwards
On May 31st, the Oxford Police Department took a walk-in report about property that was stolen. After investigation, Alvin Edwards, 23, of Oxford, was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny.

Edwards was taken before a Lafayette County Justice Court judge for his initial bond hearing and issued a $10,000 bond.

LaDarius Blackshire
On May 26th, the Oxford Police Department took a report regarding fraudulent money orders that occurred earlier in the month. After investigation, on June 5th, 2023, LaDarius Blackshire, 27, of Oxford was arrested and charged with two counts of False Pretenses.

Blackshire was taken before a Lafayette County Justice Court judge for his initial bond hearing and issued a $10,000 bond. The Mississippi Department of Corrections placed a hold on Blackshire.
