On September 24th, officers with the Oxford Police Department were doing foot patrols around the downtown square area when they encountered an individual, (later identified as 23-year-old Christopher Hall, of Water Valley) who appeared to be concealing a weapon.

Officers approached Hall and found a firearm. After investigating, they realized the gun had been registered as stolen out of Grenada.

Hall was taken into custody for Possession of a Stolen Firearm. He was taken before a Lafayette County Justice Court judge for his initial bond hearing and issued a $10,000 bond.
