Come out tonight for one of the metro area’s favorite Fall non-profit events.

This year’s Operation Shoestring Fall Fling will take place at the Mississippi Museum of Art from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. tonight and have appetizers, live music, and a cash bar. Operation Shoestring invites the Jackson metro area community to celebrate the successes of their students, families, partners, and neighborhoods, and share news about Shoestring programs.

“We’re deeply grateful for all our neighbors, volunteers, donors, and community partners who’ve worked side by side with us to help make a positive impact in the lives of the children and families we serve,” Robert Langford, Operation Shoestring’s Executive Director, said. “And we look forward to celebrating all of our shared successes at Fall Fling.”

Operation Shoestring provides year-round academic, social, and emotional support to children in central Jackson from pre-K – 12th grade while supporting and providing resources to their families. The aim is to empower the children and families they serve to create their own success, and that of their community, so we all rise together. Their core service community includes the Georgetown and Mid-City neighborhoods bordering the southern end of Bailey Avenue in central Jackson.
