One Arrested, One Wanted In Ongoing Hattiesburg Attempted Murder Investigation

On Tuesday, June 11, Hattiesburg Police, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, arrested a suspect in an ongoing attempted murder investigation.

27-year-old Michael Russell, of Hattiesburg, has been charged with one count of Accessory After the Fact in connection to the April 21, shooting that occurred in the 200 block of Martin Luther King Avenue.

Authorities have also issued an active arrest warrant for a second suspect, 27-year-old Pierre Russell, of Hattiesburg, charging him with one count of Attempted Murder in connection to the same shooting.

The Hattiesburg Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Pierre Russell.
