One man is in custody after an alleged assault, kidnapping and carjacking at gunpoint on Whitten Road in Jackson.

According to police, on Saturday, officers responded to a carjacking but were unable to find a victim.

They received a second call and found the victim in the area of Fairhill Drive.

The male victim told police that he had been assaulted, kidnapped, and robbed at gunpoint. He said the suspect then stole his Nissan Maxima.

Jackson police officers searched the area nearby and eventually found the car parked at a house on Alyce Drive.

A man named Keonta Spann got out of the rear of the house and ran through the wooded area behind the location.

Police arrested Spann and charged him with Armed Robbery and Kidnapping.
