One Arrested After Family Dollar Armed Robbery In Leake County

The Leake County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Family Dollar/Dollar Tree in the Edinburg community late Sunday evening.
Authorities said that it appeared three suspects were involved in the robbery.
With the help of eyewitness testimony and video footage, deputies were able to produce possible suspects and a suspect vehicle.
Sheriff Randy W. Atkinson and investigators worked diligently throughout the day Monday to identify and locate the suspects.
At around 4:30 pm, Monday afternoon, Sheriff Atkinson was contacted by Louisville MS Chief of Police Sean Holdiness who advised that one of his officers was currently on a traffic stop with the suspect vehicle.
After a brief pursuit, officers were able to take two individuals into custody. The driver of the vehicle, Shamarrius Triplett, was immediately identified as one of the suspects involved in the armed robbery in Leake County.
Within less than 24 hours two suspects in this incident had been arrested, one of which was undoubtedly identified as one of the three individuals in the robbery.
It is uncommon to have this quick of an apprehension in a case like this.
Sheriff Atkinson worked with Chief Holdiness of Louisville P.D. and the suspect was arrested.
Shamarrius Triplett has been arrested and charged with armed robbery and two counts of kidnapping. Leake County Sheriff’s Office anticipates the identification of the other two suspects to come in the near future.
