According to WMC, an Olive Branch man has been sentenced for attempting to murder his wife three years ago.

The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department said that Robert Delawrance Phinizee choked his wife and shot her during a domestic dispute at their home back in February of 2020.

She was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Tuesday, Phinizee faced a judge and the Desoto County jury returned a guilty verdict for conspiracy and attempted murder.

Wednesday, a judge sentenced him to 42 years in prison, according to WMC.
