Obituary for Scott Allen Tyler, and plea for public’s help

Scott Allen Tyler

Scott Tyler was the man whose body was found dismembered in Jackson in early November, but he was much more than that. He was a brother and a son and a husband at one time, and he is greatly missed. His family has asked that we share this obituary. They have also asked that if anyone knows anything about this crime, please contact Jackson Police Department with your information.

Scott Allen Tyler, age 55, of Hattiesburg, MS, was found deceased on Saturday, November 5, 2022 in Jackson, MS.

Mr. Tyler was born January 25, 1967.

He is the son of the late George Eddie Tyler Sr. and the late Lillian Robinette Tyler Jacobs. He married Glenda Tyler who preceded him in death.

He was a loving son, brother, husband and uncle. Mr. Tyler had a great sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a resident of Lucedale for many years before moving to Hattiesburg.

He is survived by two sisters: Jessica L. Jacobs and Cary Jacobs Miller, and a brother: George E. Tyler Jr.; a brother-in-law, Ricky L. Miller; two nephews, Christian J. Shields and Kaden B. Jacobs, two nieces Destiny N. Bolton and Isabelle S. Tyler. Plus a host of other family and friends.

Mr. Tyler is preceded in death by his father, George Eddie Tyler Sr., mother, Lillian Robinette Tyler Jacobs and his wife Glenda Tyler.

Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery in Lucedale, MS. Sigler Funeral Home, 601-947-3112, www.siglerfuneral.com, 4248 Main Street, Lucedale, MS, is in charge of arrangements.
