MSDH is using drone pilots with thermal imaging capabilities to assist with water leak detection in hard-to-access areas following the most recent City of Jackson boil water notice.

The drones were deployed at the request of the Jackson water system Interim Third Party Manager, Ted Henifin.

Numerous leaks were detected (appearing as the brighter white line in the black and white image, taken about 250 feet above ground level).

Leaks were reported to Henifin and his team for repairs to be made.

MSDH and MEMA drone pilots have been deployed numerous times to support emergency operations during the City of Jackson Water Crisis response
