Sterling Wingo

Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers is asking that the public be on the lookout for Sterling Wingo.

Wingo is currently wanted by the Gulfport Police Department for Sexual Battery and Kidnapping after holding a woman against her will and sexually assaulting her in Gulfport on September 6, 2021.

The victim reported to police that she refused to have sex with Wingo and was attempting to leave the residence when he allegedly pulled her back into the house and proceeded to sexually assault her.

He is described as a 25-year-old Black male, approximately 6’01”, 205 lbs., with black hair, brown eyes, and a goatee.

In March, Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers, in partnership with Lamar Advertising, ran “Wanted” billboards with Wingo’s photo in the hopes of getting information that would lead to his arrest.

Wingo has not been found yet. He should be considered armed and dangerous

Crime Stoppers will offer a reward for his arrest if the information is reported to Crime Stoppers directly.

Anonymous tips can be made to Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers online at mscoastcrimestoppers.com, by calling 877-787-5898, or by downloading the P3 Tips app.
