On Tuesday, October 25, 2022, the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, Winona Police Department, the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, and the Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives arrested six individuals on various drug charges during a detail nicknamed Operation: M30 Blues.
The suspects face charges of Sale of Cocaine, Sale of Methamphetamine, Sale of Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana with Intent, and Bench Warrants from Montgomery County.
Operation: M30 Blues is a joint investigation by the MBN, MCSO and WPD. The operation covered several months and focused on individuals selling illegal drugs in the area, particularly targeting fentanyl pills with the M30 stamping, and methamphetamine. This series of arrests is the first and more are expected.
During the operation, probable cause was developed to execute a search warrant at 150 Loggins Rd, the home of Kendric Evans. Agents seized 12 weapons that included multiple rifles, shotguns, handguns, derringers, and ammunition for the weapons. Agents also seized additional Methamphetamine and what appears to be heroin based on color and texture, dosage units of amphetamine and dextroamphetamine, and approximately a half kilogram of marijuana. Agents also seized a press that was being used to make marijuana “dabs” which is an altered form of marijuana made from the buds.
The drugs were seized by MBN and the weapons seized by the ATF. Federal charges could be pending.
