Monday Weather: Potential Freeze tonight!

Mary Apel

A freeze is expected with the local growing season having already started across the region. Significant damage is possible to unprotected sensitive vegetation mainly north of Interstate 20 and east of Interstate 55 tonight and Tuesday night. Farther south and west, frost could damage unprotected vegetation. Additional frost or freeze conditions may develop again next weekend. Stay tuned for updates this week.

Dry weather has returned to the region in the wake of a cold front. Partly to mostly cloudy skies will be the story with highs ranging from the low 50s to low 60s.

Clear to mostly clear skies will be the story for this evening. Good radiational cooling across the northeast will help lows fall at or below 32F. A Freeze Warning will go into effect late tonight for locations across the northeast.
