Monday Weather: hot and muggy, some rain possible

Mary Apel

We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds today. An isolated shower or storm will be possible, especially east of I-55. Highs in the mid to upper 90s, with heat index of 105 or higher. Please take caution with both heat and storm potential today!

From the National Weather Service: Heat index values of near 105 F are likely near Meridian and surrounding areas today, with values higher, 105 to 110 F, elsewhere. Tuesday and Wednesday will see a somewhat lesser coverage of these higher heat index values, though most areas will continue to see heat indices at or above 105 F along and west of the I-55 corridor and along and south of the I-20 corridor.
