Monday Weather: hot and humid, scattered showers later

Mary Apel

From the National Weather Service:

Dangerous heat stress is expected today with continued hot temperatures and high humidity. The highest heat indices will likely be in areas along and northwest of the I-20 & I-55 corridors where afternoon heat indices will rise to 106 to 110 degrees. Most other areas will see heat indices rise to near 105 degrees. Please remember to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous activities, and take frequent breaks if working outdoors.

Another hot and humid day is in store with afternoon and evening showers and storms. High temperatures will top out in the lower to middle 90s for the most part.
