A new physical therapy clinic in Mississippi is making waves with its inclusion and expertise in women’s health. Mississippi Physical Therapy utilizes hands-on care and personalized treatment plans to bring all of their patients a Life Without Pain.
On Wednesday, the new practice hosted a ribbon cutting where they invited guests to tour the facility.
Dr. John Horlock, one of the owners of Mississippi Physical Therapy, started the practice because he knew they could offer something unique.
“Our mission has always been to deliver the highest quality care to our patients. We have a unique set of skills. . . we’re both manual therapists, we do a lot of hands-on one-on-one care, a lot of trigger point dry needling,” said Dr. Horlock. “We look at physical therapy in a little bit different light than maybe a lot of these out-patient clinics do.”
Mississippi Physical Therapy is the first physical therapy clinic in the state of Mississippi to offer Mojo Physical Therapy.
Mojo [Pelvic Health] Physical Therapy is a pelvic health physical therapy group based out of Memphis. On top of treating women, men, teens, and children with pelvic floor issues, they also provide training to physical therapists who want to expand into women’s health.
“The women’s health realm of physical therapy is extremely underserved,” said Dr. Horlock. “Not only in the Jackson area, but in the state of Mississippi at a whole.”
Both clinics are working to spread the message that incontinence after childbirth, lower back pain, and/or pelvic pain are treatable. Mississippi Physical Therapy is ready to show patients how.
“There’s not a lot of really really good women’s health physical therapist in Mississippi. We’re hoping to be able to frontier that and bring it to Mississippi,” said Dr. Horlock.
The clinic has been open since November 1, 2021 and is located at The Township at Colony Park in Ridgeland; a convenient location for anyone in central Mississippi, even those traveling for care.
