A man who was reported missing yesterday was found dead after his vehicle was found abandoned on Laurel Street in the Belhaven area of Jackson.

According to PIO Bailey Martin, at approximately 11:00 p.m. on July 29, Capitol Police responded to a call regarding an abandoned vehicle on Laurel Street.

When officers arrived, they determined the vehicle was registered to 53-year-old Jeffrey Davis. He had been reported missing earlier that same evening by family members.

Officers with various agencies began searching for Jeffrey in the area.

At approximately 9:00 a.m., on July 30, Jeffrey Davis was found with fatal injuries.

No foul play is suspected at this time.
