Meridian Police Arrest Suspect in Connection with Georgia Violent Crimes Investigation

According to WTOK, the Meridian Police Department (MPD) made an arrest Thursday afternoon, assisting a Georgia law enforcement agency in a violent crimes investigation.

Marques D. Holloway was apprehended after MPD received a request from Dekalb County authorities in Georgia to be on the lookout for a person of interest.

Officers were provided a vehicle description, and the vehicle was spotted in Meridian on Thursday. After pulling the car over, Holloway was taken into custody.

Holloway faces multiple violent felony charges in Georgia and has been additionally charged in Mississippi with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Fentanyl) and Aggravated Trafficking, involving approximately 1,300 dosage units.

MPD Sgt. Dareall Thompson confirmed the arrest and stated that more information would be released as the investigation continues.
