Jackson Mayor Chokwe Lumumba has named a new Jackson Police Chief.
Tuesday morning he announced that the search for a permanent police chief has been concluded.
Interim Police Chief Joseph Wade was selected as the new Jackson Police Chief.
Chief Wade is a Mississippi native, from Terry. Wade has more than 30 years of law enforcement experience.
He stood up and gave a speech as he accepted the honor of being named Police Chief in Jackson.
Chief Wade said,
“My leadership is simple. I’ll lead from the rear, I’ll lead from the front, and I’ll lead from example… I’m absolutely laser-focused on making JPD an elite law enforcement agency in the state of Mississippi.”
