Recovery efforts are underway after a man slipped into the Mississippi river while working on a barge Tuesday morning, according to WLBT.
The barge was near the Natchez Port in Adams County.
WLBT reports that the only information on the man who slipped into the river is that he was 50-years-old and from Louisiana.
The police department, volunteer fire teams, search and rescue crews, and the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries are all helping with the recovery efforts.
According to Emergency Management Agency Director, Brad Bradford, they will continue to search until night.
There is a command post set up at the Natchez Adams County Port on L.E. Barry Road.
