A man was killed over the weekend in a hit-and-run on I-20, according to Jackson Police Department.
A release from JPD said officers are investigating an incident where a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on I-20 E. Near Gallatin Street. Police aren’t sure who hit the unidentified man on I-20 East, but they’re looking for help with a vehicle description.
Police say the pedestrian was reportedly seen walking in the middle of the interstate.
So far no other information is available. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Authorities in situations like these often ask body shops to be on the lookout for vehicles that have been damaged and the owner says they hit an animal.
