Man Found Shot To Death Inside Columbus Home

On August 23, at approximately 12:18 a.m., the Columbus Police Department responded to a disturbance call at 202 11th Avenue South where E-911 reported the sound of gunshots during the phone call.
When officers arrived, they immediately entered the home and found a person who had been shot.
According to Columbus Police Chief Joseph Daughtry, 26-year-old Jarion Griffin was pronounced deceased by Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant.
During the ongoing investigation into this homicide, Traylen Colvin has been identified as a person of interest.
Chief Daughtry added, “The Columbus Police Department is actively pursuing any leads or information related to this case. We urge the public to come forward and provide any information that may assist us in bringing justice to the victim and closure to their family and loved ones.
