On August 18th, around 10:00 p.m., the Tupelo Police Department tried to stop a silver Dodge Challenger on Highway 6 and South Green.
The driver, 33-year-old Kevin Crawford didn’t stop and a chase pursued that led officers south of Tupelo.
CR 54 LSO Deputies were nearby and helped by using tire deflation spike strips. The strips were successful, and Crawford stopped and jumped out to run.
Officers had K-9 Paco with them and Crawford ended up surrendering to the K9 and his handler without further incident. Crawford was taken to LSO with holds for MDOC and Tupelo.
On August 19th, Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Weir set bond at $60,000 for Felony Fleeing Charges.
This case will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury.
