According to WLBT, a man was arrested on August 19 for stabbing and killing a 73-year-old man.

Robbery/Homicide detectives arrested 33-year-old Corey Lepard, at 290 Stokes Robinson Road for outstanding warrants for aggravated assault and arson.

Jackson Police said that Herbert McComb was stabbed multiple times in the head with a sharp, blunt object, resulting in his death. Back in May, McComb was found dead in his garage by a neighbor on Raymond Road

According to JPD, neighbors told detectives that McComb’s neon green Kawasaki motorcycle was also missing from his garage.

On August 20th, WLBT reported that Jackson police recovered the stolen motorcycle on McClure Road.

A man gave a statement to police saying that Corey Lepard delivered that bike to his garage for repair work and told him that he had to kill a man for it.

When Lepard stood before a judge on August 22, he was denied bond for the capital murder of Herbert McComb.

JPD says an additional arrest is forthcoming on the second suspect involved in the murder.
