A wanted man is in custody in Lee County. 23-year-old Preston Kyle Brooks Dean is in custody and charged with Kidnapping, Aggravated Domestic Violence, and Burglary of an Occupied Dwelling.
According to Lee County Sheriff Jim H. Johnson, on September 11, the sheriff’s department responded to a 911 call about a possible kidnapping.
When officers arrived at the home on Auburn Road, officers found a woman who had been severely assaulted and needed immediate medical attention.
The victim and Preston Dean were in a previous relationship. She told deputies that Dean came to her house, broke into her home, restrained her, and beat her severely. This happened over a 30-hour period.
The victim was able to escape and call for help. Deputies then began searching for Dean, and after help from the public, they took him into custody without incident.
Mr. Dean is currently on an ankle monitor with MDOC for convictions of Grand Larceny and Felony Taking of a Motor Vehicle.
A Lee County Justice Court Judge set the bond at $500,000 for the three charges above.
