On October 10, a Simpson County jury found Staci Broome guilty of aggravated assault.
Circuit Judge Stan Sorey sentenced Broome to serve 20 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
Broome was charged with aggravated assault in March of this year by Magee Police Department for assaulting the victim with a ratchet at a home in the City of Magee.
The assault resulted in the victim sustaining serious injuries to her face which required surgery.
District Attorney Chris Hennis and Assistant District Attorney Chris Purdum presented the evidence to the jury.
The Magee Police Department and Investigator Bryan Green investigated this case.
