A family is distraught after their two poodles, Axel and Alley, were poisoned in Lucedale, Mississippi.

Jennifer Jamison said two of her three poodles got out when she was at work. She said they have an underground fence, but her white poodle is a hunter and an escape artist and was able to escape with her black poodle from the yard.

Jennifer’s husband, Cory came home from work at 4 and the dogs had returned to the back yard. As Cory was letting the dogs inside, he noticed the black poodle, Alley was lying down and not responding.

Cory called his wife Jennifer and said something was wrong.

Alley lifted her head when she saw Cory and tried to get up but fell.

Jennifer immediately came home and the couple rushed Axel and Alley to the vet. She said they were both acting very sick and lethargic. They were throwing up and hardly moving.

When they got to the vet, blood work was done and the vet found ethanol glycol, (similar to antifreeze) in their blood stream. Both dogs went into a coma. They were put on a drip for an antidoe for antifreeze. They were also given fluids and electorlytes, but unfortunately still passed away overnight.

“I took his little eyes back and they were just so sunk in, i just knew it wasn’t good” Jennifer said. She gathered her kids to spend time with the dogs at the vet Wednesday.

The vet called Jennifer Friday morning and said the dogs passed away overnight.

Jennifer said this is the 6th or 7th animal that has been poisoned on her street in a span of two years. She said they live near Polktown Road on Timber Lane.

Jennifer wants justice for her dogs. She filed a report with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.
