Love triangle leaves one man stabbed and one behind bars

On Wednesday in Brookhaven, “a love triangle” lead to one man being arrested and another being stabbed multiple times.

Brookhaven police officers answered a called at 11:50 a.m. for an altercation at 317 Congress Street. When they arrived, they found, Aza Banks and Nicolas Greer fighting over Letha Gordon. Aza Banks is from Brookhaven and Nicolas Greer is from Crystal Springs.

According to Chief Kenneth Collins who spoke to reporter Brett Campbell from The Daily Leader, Greer was cut many times and from the crime scene, he was taken to King’s Daughters Medical Center. From there he was airlifted to UMMC in Jackson.

Banks was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with extreme indifference to life. The Brookhaven man has been booked into the Lincoln County Jail. Depending upon Greer’s condition, the charges against Banks could be upgraded.
