Just as the world was buying up all the toilet paper on the shelves again for an apparently arbitrary reason that doesn’t actually have to do with toilet paper, crap was happening in Lincoln County.
Early Friday morning, a call came out for a wreck on I-55 southbound off Exit 38. An 18-wheeler had overturned and possibly could have dumped part of its load.
Volunteer firefighters from Hog Chain and Zetus Fire Departments answered the call. The driver was taken to the hospital, complaining of pain.
Meanwhile, firefighters helped in unloading the overturned semi, which may or may not have been headed to save the day at a local big box or dollar store, or possibly a restaurant restroom near you.
In that truck was more than 1,200 cases of toilet paper. No injuries were reported to the firefighters or the toilet paper, which obviously could be considered a precious commode-ity.
Good work, ladies and gentlemen.
