On June 28, at approximately 12:51 A.M., deputies from the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) responded to a disturbance call in the 4800 block of Old Highway 11 in Oak Grove.

47-year-old Jeb Travis Clearman, was found on his front yard yelling profanities and disturbing his neighbors.

Earlier in the evening, Clearman had been involved in a physical altercation at a nearby convenience store.

Deputies instructed Clearman to go back inside his home, which he did initially. However, a few minutes later, they were called back to the home when Clearman began yelling profanities from his back porch and fired a weapon toward the deputies.

Clearman was taken into custody without further incident and charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer and disturbing the peace.

He is currently held in the LCSO jail awaiting an initial appearance, where his bond will be set. No officers were injured in the incident.
