According to WLBT, a Jackson Public School student was taken into custody after being found with a gun on campus.
Police say the student brought an unloaded handgun and BB gun into Murrah High School Friday morning.
WLBT reports that this is the second time a student was found with a gun on Jackson Public school grounds this week, according to Jackson Public Schools.
In both cases, the weapons were found as the students walked into school.
Campus Enforcement took the weapon and the student was taken into custody.
A Jackson Public School news release said that no weapons were discharged and the school is safe and secure.
WLBT reports that a gun was found inside the backpack of a student at Forest Hill High School last Wednesday.
