Jackson police are investigating a fatal shooting that now involves jurisdictions in two states.
JPD’s Twitter account announced Gerard Wallace, 56, was found shot to death at a home on Pearl Street just before 2 a.m. Friday.
Wallace’s vehicle was missing from the scene where he was found, police said. The motive for the homicide was unknown.
The car was found in a neighboring state and the driver was detained, according to JPD’s Twitter.
The relationship of the driver to the victim has not been determined, Jackson police said, but they’re believed to have known each other.
Officials say charges could be forthcoming.
The city of Jackson has had 50 homicides so far this year.
