Jones County Sheriff investigating shooting at Mak’s in Eastabuchie; suspects on the run considered armed and dangerous

The Jones County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a Friday evening shooting at Mak’s in Eastabuchie which left one adult male seriously injured.

Witnesses report seeing a black male in a white Toyota Camry pull up to another vehicle at the fuel pumps and begin shooting. One adult male victim was shot at least twice including one wound in the neck. The shooter fled the scene headed south on U.S. Highway 11 headed toward Petal.

Ronda Deloach, a Charge Nurse, was a patron at Mak’s and provided emergency medical care to the victim who was bleeding profusely.

“We are actively seeking the .. whereabouts of the shooter,” notes Jones County Sheriff Joe Berlin. “Our investigators worked long into the night and are back at it this morning sorting evidence, taking statements, and reviewing security camera footage.”

The search for both individuals wanted in the shooting at Mak’s continues with the assistance of multiple agencies. Arrest warrants have been issued. Both have been placed on the FBI’s National Crime Information Center (NCIC) making their wanted status known to law enforcement agencies nationwide.

The victim was last listed as being in stable condition at a hospital.

19 years old
Hattiesburg, Ms

Michael Jermaine Norman, Jr
21 years old
Hattiesburg, Ms
(Wearing white t-shirt with distinctive imprint in photo)

Both are wanted by JCSD for questioning in the shooting incident. Suspect vehicle is a white, late model Toyota passenger car.
