The Jones County Sheriff’s Department is actively seeking the location of Melinda Allison Landrum, 38. Landrum is wanted in the shooting of another adult female on Monday morning in the Hebron Community.
Landrum is a white female, 5′ 5″ in height, weight 155 lbs., and with brown hair with blue highlights.
Landrum goes by the nickname “Blue”.
Anyone who may know the whereabouts of Melinda “Blue” Landrum, is asked to call 911, JCSD at 601-425-3147 or Jones County Crime Stoppers at 601-428-STOP (7867).
The Jones County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a Monday morning shooting that left a Hebron woman critically wounded.
JCSD deputies responded to a residence on Lola Lane in the Hebron Community in western Jones County at 5:24am on Monday. According to a witness, an adult female was shot in the face with a handgun by another adult female inside a residence.
The unidentified female shooter dropped the weapon inside the residence and fled the scene on foot prior to the arrival of JCSD deputies.
The wounded female was transported by EMServ Ambulance Service to South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel in critical condition. She has since been airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson for treatment.
JCSD Investigator Wesley Waites advises, “The name of the shooting victim and the alleged shooter are being withheld at this time. The shooter is being sought by JCSD and other law enforcement agencies and is not believed to be in the immediate area any longer.” Waites adds, “We are in the early stages of the investigation and additional information is expected to be released later on Monday.”
The alleged shooter left the scene on foot without a weapon and may have been picked up.
