Jones County Sheriff’s Department narcotics agents executed a search warrant at a residence in Ovett Tuesday evening.

The subject of the warrant, Jeremy Wayne Riels, 32, of Ovett, fled his home on foot and narcotics agents captured him after a short chase.

Riels was listed as a JCSD ‘Most Wanted’ subject with a bench warrant issued by the Jones County Circuit Court Judge. His original charge was burglary.

JCSD Narcotics agents located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia after a search of the home.

”I’ve said it before and I will say it again, if you run you will just go to jail tired,” said Sheriff Joe Berlin.

Jeremy Wayne Riels will be incarcerated at the Jones County Adult Detention Facility pending his initial appearance in Jones County Justice Court.
