Did you see Mississippi’s very own Jackson State University “The Sonic Boom of the South” performing during the halftime show?

They made Mississippi proud with their incredible performance.

The half time show during the Superbowl is the world’s most watched event.

Usher headlined the show, and was joined by Alicia Keys, H.E.R., will.i.am, Ludacris, Jermaine Dupri, Reba McEntire, Daniel Durant, Post Malone, and Andra Day.

According to Jackon State University’s website, the Jackson State University Marching Band was dubbed The Sonic Boom of the South in 1971 by students in the band.

“In 1974, the band’s theme, “Get Ready,” an old Motown favorite was selected and three years after that, the “Tiger Run-On” was perfected.”
