According to a recent release from Jackson Public Schools, 33 schools reported having little to no water pressure.

Due to this, JPS will shift to virtual learning on Thursday and Friday, January 5 and 6.

Scholar computer device pick-up is scheduled for Wednesday January 4th from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at each school site.

They can also pick up meals, breakfast and lunch, at each school on January 5th and 6th from 7:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m.

“The loss of water pressure in our school communities has had an enormous impact on us all. Please know that this decision was made after carefully considering many factors, including the possibility of more schools losing pressure while scholars and staff are present, and the challenge of maintaining a safe and clean environment”

Jackson Public Schools will provide daily updates to families at approximately 4:00 p.m. regarding the water pressure status and reopening schools.
