Jackson police say teen shot his friend in perceived self-defense

Jackson Police say a shooting between teens over a prank was self-defense.

Fifteen year old Christopher Patton was shot once in the chest when he and two others pulled up in front of a friend’s home and jumped out with a toy assault rifle and a ski mask.

Police say Joshua Davis, 17, fired one shot, killing Patton. Derreon McGowan, 17, and JaKuious Galloway, 19, were also taken to police headquarters.

Two toy assault rifles and one real handgun were taken from the vehicle by police.
